Sol Dewitt's sentences - Response

I like the way Sol thinks.

I like how he points out how:

2.Rational judgements repeat rational judgements.
3.Irrational judgements lead to new experience

I believe that some of the best art is connecting two or more separate ideas in a a way that you did not expect. Some of the 'classic' forms of art are very predictable, at least in the way that we expect to appreciate and experience them. We go to museums to see paintings, and download music to experience the sound art of our favor
and I believe that if we try too hard to create something meaningful or artistic, the original intention can get lost or clouded.

I agree with

.24 Perception is subjective.

I think subjectivity is one of the traits of art that is nearly impossible to remove.
and I agree with

.26 An artist may perceive the art of others better than his own.

As I find it much easier to praise others for their work, then to see the good in my own.
